How can I open a Betashares Direct account for my Trust?

You can open an account for your Trust from the web or mobile apps. What you’ll need is:

  • the ABN for the trust
  • the ACN for the trustee (if a corporate trustee)
  • driver’s licence/passport details (for each individual trustee, or for each director of a corporate trustee, as well as any ultimate beneficial owners)
  • a digital copy of the signed trust deed (under 10MB).

Only applications by Australian trusts will be accepted.

Do I need separate log-in details for my different account types?

No – provided the accounts are linked to the same email address. You will log in using the email address registered to your account(s) and can then switch between your Individual, Trust, and any other accounts from the Profile menu.

Can I transfer securities into my Trust account from another platform?

Yes! You can initiate a transfer of eligible securities from another platform onto Betashares Direct from the app. Go to the profile menu and select “Transfer request” to start the digital process.

Does Betashares Direct provide tax reporting?

Yes! Betashares Direct makes tax time easy by providing an Annual Tax Statement as well as a Capital Gain and Loss Report (CGT statement) for all holdings on the platform. At any time you can also generate an ad hoc report or list of transactions from the “Activity” page in the web app at direct.betashares.com.au.
